Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have long allowed and encouraged the participation of trainees in the appraisal process, and lenders and secondary market participants are increasingly becoming more comfortable with appraisals performed by trainees, as research shows little difference in appraisal quality between real estate appraisers and trainees. Gov. Abbott Appoints 2 to Appraisal Management Companies Advisory Committee
09/21/2022Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Frank Towery Jr., and reappointed Julia Hayes to the Appraisal Management Companies Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on January 31, 2024.
The Committee advises the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board and makes recommendations on matters relating to the regulation of appraisal management companies.

A New Way for Consumers to Find a License Holder’s Disciplinary History
08/16/2022It is now easier to find whether a license holder has a disciplinary history with the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. The new Disciplinary Actions button at the top of each license holder’s page will take users to a license holder's specific Disciplinary Actions page if a disciplinary history exists.
