TALCB Processing Dates
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is experiencing technical difficulties affecting turnaround times for FBI fingerprint-based criminal history results. This may result in a delay in processing an application for licensure. DPS is working to fix this issue but has not shared a timeline for resolution. For more information on this delay, reach out to DPS or visit its website.
To check the status of your application, use the Application Status Tracker tool. Applications are processed within one week of receipt. If the status of your application has not been updated after one week of submission, email licensing.talcb@talcb.texas.gov.
To prevent delays in processing your initial application, submit the required documents, including your experience log and affidavit, course completion certificates, and any supporting background documents to licensing.talcb@talcb.texas.gov. For a full list of requirements for each license type, visit the Become Licensed pages on the TALCB website.
To prevent delays in processing your renewal, complete continuing education more than 10 days prior to your license expiration date. Texas appraiser continuing education providers are required to submit course completion rosters within 10 days of when you complete your course. For additional information, reach out to your course provider.
