The Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board met on Friday May 19 at headquarters in Austin. TALCB Chair, Sarah Oates, opened the meeting by welcoming new Board Member John H. Eichelberger, III. Chair Oates also thanked outgoing Board Member Clayton Black for his service and acknowledged the reappointment of Board Member Rolando Castro.

The AMC National Registry (AMC Registry) is a national online database of appraisal management companies (AMCs) maintained by the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC). Any AMC that meets the definition of an AMC under federal law is eligible for inclusion on the AMC Registry. The AMC Registry is also open to the public and may be used by clients and consumers to view certain information about an AMC.
In 2019, the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board approved rules that increase fees in order to improve customer service and provide a higher level of support for license holders. As of September 8, 2020 TALCB began copying any appraiser that supervises an appraiser trainee on correspondence sent to the trainee from TALCB on enforcement-related matters (including complaints) and licensing matters related to deficiencies with an application, education evaluations, experience evaluations, and whether required experience has been met.

The FBI rap back program allows TREC and TALCB to receive criminal history information on our license holders in real-time. This replaces the Agency's current practice of performing a subsequent background check at the time of a license holder's renewal.
