License Holder Search

Effective January 2, 2020, TREC and TALCB will activate the FBI rap back program for all of the Agency’s license holders.

What is the FBI Rap Back Program?

The FBI rap back program allows TREC and TALCB to receive criminal history information on our license holders in real-time. This replaces the Agency's current practice of performing a subsequent background check at the time of a license holder's renewal.

What does this mean for me?

This process will save you money on each renewal. Because license holders enroll in the FBI rap back program only once, it eliminates the need for a license holder to pay for a subsequent background check at each license renewal.  Enrollment in the FBI rap back program is free. As a result, after January 2, 2020 you will no longer have to pay the $28.25 that you currently pay to perform a subsequent background check at the time of each renewal.

Whether you have already enrolled in the FBI rap back program depends on when you were fingerprinted for your license. To make this process as easy as possible, we can automatically determine if you are already enrolled in the program. No action is needed by you until it is time to renew your license. After January 2, 2020, if you are not currently enrolled in the program, you can access and submit the FBI rap back form when you log in to your online license services account.

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to renew your license until you have submitted the FBI rap back form online.

If you are already enrolled in the FBI rap back program, the form will not appear on your online service account. All applicants and license holders who were fingerprinted for TREC and TALCB after June 1, 2015 have already completed the required form and enrolled in the program at the time they submitted their initial fingerprints.

Can I mail in the FBI rap back subscription form?

Not at this time. To promptly comply with the requirements of the program, and to avoid any delays in issuing your license renewal, this form will only be available online by logging in to your online license services account.
