The Appraiser Diversity Initiative (ADI) is including a virtual option to its USA tour. On October 24, ADI’s “How to Become a Real Estate Appraiser" workshop is hitting an online platform from 6-8 p.m. Register here to receive a live link to attend.

ADI is a collaboration between the Appraisal Institute, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the National Urban League. This program was created in 2018 as a mode of national outreach to educate aspiring appraisers about the profession, provide resources, and make the residential appraisal field more reflective of all the people it serves. According to ADI, “On average, the current appraiser workforce is overwhelmingly over the age of 50, male, and not racially or ethnically diverse.”

During each ADI workshop, scholarship opportunities are presented and later given to those on their way to becoming appraiser trainees. Funding can cover qualifying education, supplies, and networking events.

The Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board’s Director Melissa Tran attended ADI’s Houston workshop in August. Click here to see where the next in-person event is happening.
