The Board met for its regular quarterly meeting on Thursday, February 9th to elect officers, appoint committees and mentors, propose and adopt rules, and consider disciplinary cases. It was a full agenda as usual and staff did a great job of preparing for the many business items we needed to attend to.

2018-19 USPAP Revisions: What has Changed? Part One
03/23/2017In February 2017, the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) of the Appraisal Foundation adopted revisions to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) for the 2018-19 edition. This process began with the issuance of a Discussion Draft in January 2016 and was followed by three exposure drafts of proposed revisions to USPAP. The changes adopted by the ASB at its meeting on February 3, 2017, will be incorporated in the 2018-19 edition of USPAP and associated guidance materials.

Fee Survey Announced for Appraisers and AMCs

Governor Appoints New Board Members
12/05/2016Governor Abbott has appointed five new members to the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) and reappointed three. James Jefferies and Clayton Black have been reappointed with terms set to expire January 31, 2017. Alejandro Sostre-Odio and Joyce Yannuzzi with terms set to expire January 31, 2019 and Chance Bolton, Tony Peña and Martha Reid for terms set to expire January 31, 2021.

Governor Abbott Appoints Four to the AMC Advisory Committee
09/20/2016The Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board (TALCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Pistilli and Angelica Guerra to the Appraisal Managment Company (AMC) Advisory Committee with terms to expire in January 2018. Sara Oates and Larry McNamara were reappointed to the Committee with terms expiring in 2017. The Vice-Chair of TALCB, James Jefferies, serves as the chair of the AMC Advisory Committee.
