Customer Service Team Hard at Work, From Home

In early March the COVID-19 virus began spreading rapidly throughout the country. The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) took drastic measures to ensure the health and well-being of the staff while continuing to address the questions and concerns of consumers and license holders. TREC and TALCB quickly determined it was best for staff to transition staff working entirely remotely and allocate resources to do so.

TALCB is Open for Business

COVID-19 has impacted daily life as we know it.  In the midst of this crisis, the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) has worked to ensure continued service to license holders and the public while protecting our employees. As a result, our physical offices in Austin are closed to the public, and staff and operations have transitioned to working remotely.

End of Year Customer Service Update

In April of 2018, the Executive Director of the Agency reached out to our stakeholders and to the public to acknowledge that the customer service the Agency was providing was unacceptable and that we were working diligently to find sustainable solutions to resolve these issues. Since that time, the Agency has made great strides to improve the level of service by employing a holistic approach, including a combination of technological improvements, additional staff, and enhanced process efficiencies.

Public Information Policy

The Texas Public Information Act gives you the right to access government records and government officials may not ask why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public. Exceptions may apply to the disclosure of certain information. The Agency must promptly release requested information that is not confidential by law or information for which an exception to disclosure has been sought.

Is Filing a TALCB Complaint Right for You?

The Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) plays an important role in regulating real estate appraisers and appraisal practices in Texas. Part of that includes investigating complaints against license holders and those who conduct unlicensed appraisal activities. But filing a complaint with TALCB might not be the right solution for your situation. Make sure you know what to expect before you file a complaint.
