AUSTIN, TX - Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) is pleased to announce Melissa Tran has been promoted to Director of TALCB.  Tran previously served as managing attorney in the enforcement division at TALCB.

The Director of TALCB role is a new role and comes with a restructuring of the agency to help streamline and improve customer services to license holders. Tran will oversee two teams. The enforcement team will review consumer complaints, and the licensing team will process all appraiser applications.

Before joining the agency, Melissa Tran worked as a risk-management consultant and assisted lenders in operationalizing regulatory changes, mitigating compliance risks, and preparing for examinations. She is a proud graduate of the University of Texas for her undergraduate degree and earned a dual Juris Doctor degree and Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University.

TALCB exists to safeguard consumers in matters of real property appraisal services. The agency also provides education and licensing services, as well as regulation and enforcement of state and federal laws and requirements that govern real property appraisals.
