Did you know the data collected from the census is used all around you? For Texas to get an accurate level of funding and representation in the future, all Texans should fill out a survey.

The US constitution requires a census to be conducted every ten years to count everyone living. After each census, the information is used for the following:

  • State officials use the results to redraw the boundaries of their congressional and state legislative districts, adapting to population shifts.

  • Real estate developers use the census to build new homes and revitalize old neighborhoods.

  • Businesses use census data to decide where to build factories and offices, and where to invest in job creation.
  • Residents use the census to support community initiatives involving legislation, quality of life, and consumer advocacy.

  • Local governments use the data to fund public safety projects and emergency preparedness.

Your responses are confidential. Federal law protects your responses, and your answers can only be used to produce statistics.

Take time to fill out your survey today to help ensure Texans get their fair share. Learn more about the US census.
